A portable Clarius L7 ultrasound scanner is used to help guide the needle to the target tissue. Target injection sites include but are not limited to:

Joints

Shoulders, Elbows, Wrists, Thumbs, Fingers, Sacroiliac joints, Hips, Knees, Ankles, Mid-feet, Toes.

Soft Tissue

Subacromial bursa, common flexor and extensor tendon insertions at the elbow, hamstring tendon insertions, peroneal and tibial tendon sheaths, median and ulnar nerve sheaths, Mortons neuromas.

CONDITIONS TARGETED

Frozen shoulders, shoulder impingements, osteoarthritis of the joints, Cubital tunnel, Carpal tunnel, meniscal injuries, Tennis Elbow, Golfer’s Elbow, peroneal/ tibial tendinopathies, plantar fasciitis, aspiration of joint effusions/ cysts.

SPECIALISED INJECTIONS INCLUDE:

Hydrodilatation injections for frozen shoulders, barbotage injections for calcific tendonitis, high volume injections for achilles tendonitis.

CONTRAINDICATION FOR INJECTIONS

Feeling unwell, having a current or recent infection, being significantly immunocompromised (e.g. undergoing chemotherapy), already taking high dose steroids (over 15mg daily), under 18 years of age, high osteoporotic risk, uncontrolled blood sugars, being within two weeks of having received a vaccine of any description.
